Hello 2019! Kiss the Cook Catering named one of Toronto’s best by BlogTO

What a way to start the New Year. It seems like Santa delivered a late present to our team when, just a few days ago, we were named one of ‘The Best Catering Companies in Toronto’ by BlogTO.

While it’s always an honour to be recognized as a leader in your industry—especially when doing business amongst so many talented catering firms—it’s an especially delicious achievement when it’s delivered by a respected online publication with its finger on the pulse of the city’s latest and greatest food-related news, not to mention the hottest trends that everyone should have on their radar.

Here’s what they had to say about your favourite catering company (that would be us):

“If you want to be catered to completely, look no further than this company that can even handle the decor and entertainment for almost any event. They can even pull off “Garden Party” and “Southern Comfort” themes.”

And let’s not forget backyard barbecues, fun and exciting food stations—from poutine to Hawaiian poke and seafood-laden paella (and a host of selections in between)—not to mention some of the most creative corporate cafeteria options in the city. But I digress. The staff at BlogTO don’t have the time to list off all of our amazing menu choices!

What was so special about this accolade is that it recognized the scope of our service offerings. We’re not only your partner in creating unforgettable food-focused experiences, we have the capacity to design those events and bring them to life in a stress-free way—so you can live the moment and love the food (as we like to say), and not have to worry about logistical considerations during your event. It’s our job to handle the heavy lifting, so you don’t have to.

Of course, recognition from BlogTO came on the heels of what was another impressive year of growth for our company. We created new roles and added a host of new team members. I’m truly amazed by the innovative new ideas our group comes up with every day. Without their tireless work—not to mention the support of our industry partners— we’d have never achieved the kind of success that earned the BlogTO shout-out.

Our corporate clients also took notice of that impressive bench strength. Last year we expanded our roster of daily catering clients and added a range of new services and menu items tailored specifically to the needs of our corporate customers. Doing so meant finding new ways to deliver exciting menu options, on time, on budget and always fresh and tasty. Part of making a daily corporate meal program work is paying close attention to food trends—from popular new takes on traditional favourites to interesting dishes from around the world—and employee preferences and needs (think dietary and allergy requirements, as examples). This is especially important for our clients who are using catered meal programs to attract, engage and retain top talent. If the food isn’t good, word spreads fast and employees become unhappy. They start criticizing instead of kissing the cook, and that’s something we simply can’t have. Nor can we allow our clients to waste time battling a cumbersome e-commerce website when ordering meals for themselves or their employees.

So, to simplify that process, we launched a complete redesign of Kiss the Cook Express, our online ordering platform. We took a client-first approach during the process, making navigation easier and ensuring that our e-commerce engine was as efficient and effective as possible. Judging from the response, we think you appreciated the update: traffic to the site increased significantly after the re-launch.

Here’s the even better news: we have more exciting ideas and improvements in store for 2019. We can’t wait to roll out a new selection of mouth-watering food stations, a basketful of fun contests and exciting menu updates, like the revised Festive Menu we launched for the holidays this year. That one is available for ordering through the end of January, so don’t delay. Book your belated yuletide feast now!

Most importantly, I want to thank you, our customers—as well as our industry partners and suppliers—for your ongoing support. Without all of you (and that includes our wonderful team—yep, I want to acknowledge them one more time), Kiss the Cook would be a very different company. Recognition or not, we’ll never stop learning and challenging ourselves to be better. In our view, we’re only as good as the last dish we serve; our passion for cooking amazing food means we’ll never cut corners or compromise those core values. Rest assured, our team will stay dedicated to making magic in the kitchen. As we get ready to celebrate our 10th anniversary (where did that decade go!?), we’re more excited than ever to see what the new year has in store.

And on that note, we wish you and yours all the best in 2019. We can’t wait to keep on pleasing your palette with our delicious culinary creations and unforgettable events!
