Up, up and away: A whimsically-styled wedding shoot as seen on WedLuxe (Video)

If you’re lucky enough to be approached by one of our industry’s best, Megan Wappel Designs, to take part in a styled wedding shoot, you instantly jump at the opportunity. Even better is finding out that it’s going to be shot by the insanely talented sister team at Amsis Photography. It’s at that point that you know you’ll wind up with a work of art.

Indeed, the entire team selected to bring Megan’s vision to fruition worked together seamlessly and the results were just what we had expected. Perfection.

The setting was a pristine backyard edging on to the Scarborough Bluffs, one of the city’s often-overlooked natural treasures. The harvest table seemed infinite, blending into lake Ontario in the background. The weather was an outdoor wedding dream, with warm sun and cool breezes. An outdoor lounge was built under some trees for shade. When seated in the lounge it felt as though you’d been swept away to an enchanted forest. The bar was placed beneath a giant willow, with branches draping down like a waterfall backdrop. At Kiss the Cook Catering, we’re known for staging awesome backyard weddings, so this project was near and dear to us. The setting couldn’t have been more exquisite!

Our plan for the menu was to create dishes that captured a summer al fresco dining experience. We created an edible centrepiece of charcuterie, carefully selected from St. Lawrence Market artisans and artfully displayed to balance colours, textures and flavours across the harvest table.

Our wildflower salad is a beauty that was made better by the last-minute addition of freshly-picked red currants found in the garden that morning. A family-style main course of Peruvian roasted chicken and potatoes with aji verde (green sauce) was the perfect rustic touch to match the theme. Dessert was another colourful feast for the senses featuring fresh-baked fruit tarts of various flavours, a summer wedding dessert we’re excited to present to our wedding couples for the 2018 season. And just wait until you see the wedding cake made by Truffle Cake & Pastry–stunning!

Of course, we couldn’t stage a gorgeous wedding reception without capturing the moment. Here’s a collection of our favorite photos from this stylish shoot as well as a behind the scenes video, as first seen on the Wedluxe blog:

You tell us the kind of dream wedding you want to stage, and we take care of the rest.

Of course, we couldn’t let you go without offering a behind-the-scenes look at how the team put this gorgeous photo shoot together:
