There are two things we love most as a catering firm: creating incredible food experiences for our guests that feature superbly delicious dishes—and doing it over the holidays! That’s right, the festive season is our favourite time of the year. Maybe it’s the opportunity to recreate our Festive Menu. Maybe it’s the turkey, the presents, the spirit of giving and togetherness, or the sheer joy of it all. It probably also has a lot to do with the egg nog and Christmas cake. But we’re guessing it’s a little of all of the above.
Because the holidays are just around the corner, we’ve been more than a little busy here at Kiss the Cook. Orders have been flying in faster than Santa gift-giving across the globe on Christmas Eve, while clients claim their catering spots as they get set to host yuletide parties for family and friends, or make plans to put together unforgettable gatherings to show their appreciation to staff for another year of hard work and success. As we do each year, we’ve worked our creative magic to develop an even greater Festive Menu featuring brand new dishes and old favourites that have become a holiday tradition amongst our loyal customers across the Greater Toronto Area.
Now, before I get into the details, here’s a Christmas tree-sized caveat. A great deal of our availability over the holiday season is already booked, so if you want to serve up some Kiss the Cook goodness at your seasonal soiree, please contact us as soon as possible. We don’t want to turn all Scrooge and leave a lump in anyone’s stocking by having to offer you a catering rain cheque. Our job is to make the holidays memorable (in the right way!), so let’s talk now and turn your winter-time party into the can’t-miss event of the year!
Now, with that housekeeping item out of the way, on to the tasty delicacies we have on offer this year. That list, of course, must start with our world-famous Festive Turkey Feast. It comes with:
- Your choice of entrée—our perfectly-roasted turkey carved to perfection with white and dark meat separated; or a whole roasted turkey ready to carve; or individual veggie pot pies with mushroom gravy; or our vegan option, roasted stuffed squash with ancient grains, roasted winter vegetable, thyme and sage
We could probably stop there and you’d be impressed, but let’s keep going anyway. The Feast also includes:
- Our gourmet turkey gravy
- Kiss the Cook’s best-ever stuffing
- Homemade cranberry orange sauce
- Creamy mashed potatoes
- Green beans with caramelized onions and almonds
- Honey glazed carrots
- Freshly baked dinner rolls with whipped butter
- Kale salad with sweet potato, pomegranate, dried cranberry, pumpkin seeds, maple tahini dressing or a mixed green salad with cherry tomato, cucumber and balsamic vinaigrette
We then top it all off with your choice of irresistible sweetness: assorted festive cookies or seasonal dessert squares—all for only $24.95 per guest. No wonder it’s one of our best-selling packages!
Another of our uber-creative creations that tend to top clients’ culinary wish lists include our Holiday Poutine food station. Like a slightly sinful Christmas dinner in a bowl, it includes your choice of oven baked potato wedges or crispy homemade French fries topped with freshly carved turkey, homemade stuffing, squeaky Quebec cheese curds, cranberry sauce and our famous poutine gravy. Words simply can’t describe how good this tastes. You’ll just have to try it—but don’t blame us when you can’t keep the munching to just one bite!
Not to be forgotten, our superb Stuffing Waffles are a unique dish that offers an alternative to traditional yuletide faves. We take our best-ever stuffing, turn it into waffles and top it with freshly carved turkey, mashed potatoes and gravy with cranberry orange sauce on the side. Looking for a different sort of food station experience to put a distinctive spin on your holiday festivities? Then it’s time to try our wok station, where our chefs will prepare fresh stir fry with flare for your guests, then serve it in Chinese takeout boxes. Options include a selection of Singapore curry fried rice with crispy beef, cashew chicken stir fry or vegetarian chow mien noodle stir fry.
Now, we know your mouth is watering in anticipation of news about our Holiday Party Hors d’Oeuvres. Don’t worry, we’ve got you covered.
We’re bringing back bite-sized barnstormers such as our Truffle Mac ‘n’ Cheese Bombs with smoky ketchup, Avocado Fresh Rolls and Roasted Mushroom and Cream Cheese Puffs. New to the menu this year: Beyond Meat Sliders featuring American cheese, onion, dill pickle, lettuce and Thousand Island dressing. And don’t forget meaty bites like our Christmas Slider (a turkey and bacon burger with cranberry relish and Brussels sprout slaw), Raph’s Chicken Meatball stuffed with fontina and accented with marinara sauce, and our awesome Sushi Pizza (sesame sticky rice, ponzu glazed salmon and chili mayo). And back by popular demand: our yummy Yorkshire Sliders featuring a mini Yorkshire pudding, shaved roast beef, aged white cheddar and horseradish aioli.
My stomach is rumbling just talking about these fantastic offerings. But wait, there’s more!
No Kiss the Cook event is complete without delving into our decadent dessert list. We offer everything from custom slab cakes including a hand-written message and festive garnishes upon request (choose from chocolate mousse, red velvet, lemon chiffon, black forest or white forest) to traditional jumbo cookies (chocolate chip, double chocolate chip (because, why not?) and oatmeal raisin) and both festive cut out cookies and seasonal dessert squares.
Last but not least, don’t forget about Santa’s Bar, where we can offer a range of beverages from comforting hot chocolate with mini marshmallows and peppermint tea, to tasty homemade punch.
